I had these left unfinished from when I was trying to make my son a bag. I had this ticker tape ribbon yarn a bargain one I had macrame cord. Thats the handles.

I like the two black bags I hated sewing on this vinyl others have been ok.

This started out as a bag for my adult son. Its too girly He is 6'4 and a powerful guy but... there's a limit. Its mine and I love it . I put in a separating zipper Its pretty handy!

Jammies

I have made puppy, football,SpongeBob jammies. I gave them away no picture. I made a basketball print fleece blanket and I did finish the couch before Thanksgiving!
I made 2 matching pillows.
I spent entire day on a black vinyl bag for my son and it looked like a womans hand bag... so I kept it.
I have more jammies to do So I will take pictures of those

the dreaded pocket tear

They make jeans all broken in now cost a fortune and wear out fast. WHY? because they make them all beat up and the fibers are weak.
Everyone wants their pants like jammies.

Here's the finished product short of reweaving the fabric as a home sewer its all I can do

I sewed some jean material to the back of what we used to call dungarees. Farmers, boys, people who worked hard wore dungarees. Now they are ridiculous prices and shotty quality selling like hot cakes go figure.
They still make work jeans but they aren't cool I guess.

This was for family member well... I have warned him now.
After broken needles and drawing blood. I fixed the rent next to (always ) the pocket where that nail thing is.
It ends up like sewing with the presser foot up causing a big snarly mess of thread.
I guess you could use the darning foot. I haven't tried it.

I I thought the camoflage was a good choice for a top. Both pieces are 100% cotton it cost about $7.00 to make. A big savings and much better quality.The little boy I made these for suddenly grew I added a band. They have bands on ghee's It works.

Here they are finished I paid $1.50 a yard and its nice flannel not the thin loosely woven junk. Its good quality. I prewashed it before I cut it out. Its not wrinkly either. It has a soft hand.

I made a binding for the hem because the kids seem to favor these jammies and the hems fall down.

I have used my Dritz easy hemmer for the casing that is the best tool ever

Today I will start the arms of the couch. I have started but since the couch is not at my home. I need to go try what I have on it.
I'll bring my camera and take some pictures.

recovering cushions

I couldn't find a lot of information about recovering a couch. There's a lot on doing a dining room chair phffffffp! No help.
If you have loose cushions you can recover your couch. You need time and focus. Its well worth it.
All the cushions are removable now. The inside cushion are removable as well. You can wash all the cushion covers if necessary.
I chose 100% cotton which means they are fire retardant as well.
This couch is for a young family with a active dog. They have lots of relatives and friends that come over often.
I got fabric on sale. I bought a rugged medium blue for the seat cushions I used a matching blue stripe for the upper cushions the seat cushions have the matching striped cording to tie it together

I took apart the old cushion to use as a pattern. I made an inside muslin cushion I used velcro to close its clean and new and nice

Now on to the bottom cushions. They have cording and zippers. They are way more work. I saved the old zipper. first i basted the seam shut and layed the zipper on and pinned it.

I had to do corner darts . I made my own cording recovering the old cording from the old cushions. Save as much as you can from the original. I used a zipper foot to apply the cording. get it as close as you can keep reading on to older posts it goes on and on!
This project took about a month. Every cushion got a new muslin cover.
This couch is probably 10 years old. It is looking awesome.

You need to sew a piece of felt across the seam where the zipper is. If you don't when you go to put your cover on the seam will rip! Trust me I already did it

This is the L shaped part it was hard to do You need to baste and be patient. It took 3 hours to sew this cushion. The oblong shaped ones took 2 hours. There was one last cushion that went in the center that one took awhile. It was the biggest the zipper wrapped around the cushion it was a challenge. Its finished. The couch looks great and all fresh and new. There's a lot of satisfaction gleaned from restoring this piece. I kept it out of the land fill. Its still comfortable.
The arms need new foam. Stapeling that all back in might be scary. Hey I can't believe the transformation

Once installed in the couch it was impressive. I made 6 upper cushions and 5 seat cushions. Now I have to arms left to reupolster.

I can never find my sign in book , my points finder , a pen and never paper. I write things on pieces of paper that I never find again. I made myself a case. I wrote it all down if you need one too. You can ask for help if its not clear. I love mine

Weight Watchers case

Materials

2 pieces of fabric

1 of iron on fleece measuring 16 1/2 inches by 5 and 1/2 inches

one piece of fabric 8 and 1/2 inches by 5 and 1/2 inch for the back pocket.

one piece of interfacing 4 x 5 and 1/2" for back pocket

apply iron on fleece to one side of the large piece.

Apply interfacing to pocket piecefold the 8 and 1/2 inches x 5 and 1/2 inches back pocket piece in half

press.

stitch side seams turn right side out and press.

from the bottom of back piece that is 16 and 1/2 inches x 5 and 1/2 inches measure up 5 inches.

mark a line across. here you will sew the back pocket.

with the raw edge facing up line it up with line you marked and sew across. press it up and top stitch the sides of the pocket
****I used iron on velcro here's where you might want to apply yours if its sew on.
Now take you other 16 1/2" piece of fabric lay it on top right sides together. stitch around and leave a gap so you can turn it right side out trim corners.Press again fold up one end 5 inches from the bottom now stitch sides down this is the front pocket.On this same pocket measure over one inch from the side draw a line horizontally from the bottom and stitch up 5 inches. this is for your pen.measure 3 inches from the top and mark a line across stitch a line then another a 1/4 inch away from it..This is where the flap folds over.Top stitch the flap edges and sides.I used the iron on velcro so I did that last. I sewed on a button.

The black is a Chelsea bag more difficult to make. It is home decor fabric $10 a yard.Its a back pack and a purse you have to be careful how you pick it up or it ends up upside down.The last one is my own design a back pack I haven't used it yet.

My latest bag

here's my patchwork bag. I saw it on creative little daisys blog.I love her blog she is so talented!I cut 2 inchs at the top 3 inchs at the bottom 13 inches long I sewed them up the sides them layed them on fleece and quilted it It was supposed to be a stitch and flip. I like it a lot except I am going to relocate the handes to the front. It sags when you carry it.It has lots of pockets its really nice. I have 2 pairs of pants to finish
